The coolest thing that we've heard so far about Apollo 13 is this: the space scenes were filmed in actual zero-gravity. The actors, crew, and set were installed inside NASA's reduced gravity aircraft (otherwise known as the Vomit Comet), and flown in 612 parabolas, resulting in 3 hours and 54 minutes of weightlessness in chunks of 25 seconds at a time. The movie premiered in 1995, and was nominated for 9 Academy Awards.
