You might recognize Voltorb as that Pokémon that looks just like a Poké Ball with a face. Within the Pokémon universe, characters tend to mistake Voltorb for a Poké Ball and get electrocuted when they touch it, even though Voltorb is actually over one foot in height and bears no resemblance in size to its Poké Ball counterpart.
Its origins are unknown, though considering it looks just like a Poké Ball, theories tend to lean toward it being artificially created. Voltorb has various electricity-based powers, most famously the power to explode when it gets angry. Outside of the Pokémon universe, it most appears in Super Smash Brothers, popping out of a building, making everyone run away in panic before it explodes.
Voltorb is the best at what it does, but what it does best is blowing itself up and causing everyone to panic.
