You can hawk it, you can use it, you can incapacitate your enemies with it! An Inorganic Material MacGuffin is found at the bottom of the ocean/stolen from the natives/snatched from a museum, and boy, are you going to use it for evil.
This MacGuffin may mean almost nothing to the general plot (watch the diamond in Snatch), or may be a thinly veiled excuse to piss off the sympathic blue locals (need some Unobtanium, do you?). Maybe your get-rich-quick scheme involves making gold (a Philosopher’s Stone may be required, or, at least, Edward Elric). It’s nearly always hard to get (go ahead, find some Kryptonite), and may involve extensive post-processing. Either way, we advise planning ahead. -Z
