If their names are not immediately familiar to you, you will at least know Pintel and Ragetti as "those two pirates" from Pirates of the Caribbean. Yes, in three movies full of pirates, all it takes is to mention the pair, and you can immediately picture them. (Pintell is the short round one, Ragetti is the tall skinny one with the wooden eye.)
But it doesn't really matter which one's which, does it? They never appear apart, whether working for Barbossa, working for Jack, awash in a rowboat with a dog, or being captured by their henching counterparts Murtogg and Mullroy, those two Royal Marines. You know, the short fat one and the taller skinny one.
They are also the fourth most popular 'ship in Pirates of the Caribbean slash fanfiction, right after Will/Elizabeth, Jack/Elizabeth, and Jack/Will.
Oh, come on, that counts for something.
