One of three games on the list inspired by a Disney franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean Online allows the player to captain a ship, recruit a crew, fight naval battles, and become a notorious pirate by hunting treasure, gaining gold, and forging alliances. If this sounds like a game you'd find in an enormous rattle-y box behind Seafarers of Catan in your local comic shop, then you understand why its on our list. Launched in 2007, the game is still going, despite (or because of?) being free to play. Oh, you can also play black jack and texas hold 'em against pirates for in-game gold, but we'll hold off until you can contract scurvy and syphilis. And then cure it with voodoo.
