Power Rangers Gets Its Own MMO, Power Rangers Online

Korean developer Ntreev is bringing the world a Power Rangers MMO, with its first closed beta only a few days away on November 3. The beta will be Korean only, however, and will last until November 9, hosting 5,000 players. Designed as a side-scroller, the MMO is based on the Mystic Force series, a series that began only five years ago in 2006, long after we were young enough to enjoy Power Rangers. Players will make their own character, as is the MMO M.O., choosing the class cleverly disguised as a “color,” the iconic Power Ranger differentiations. As players level up, they’ll be able to divert from the standard tight-bodysuit-and-biker-helmet motif, and gather other equipment that is probably as funny-looking.

The beta currently sports two acts with fourteen stages, and tells the story via comic book style scenes. Read on below for mighty morphin’ screenshots and a trailer that hosts some pretty generic guitar solos.

    Since this is a Korean Power Rangers game, it would probably be more accurate to call this a Super Sentai MMORPG based on the Japanese series (Mahou Sentai Magiranger), because for a while now, Korea has shown dubs of the Japanese shows but referred to them by the title of Power Rangers. You can tell by the civilian outfits of the characters and their use of “Checkmate” when the monsters are destroyed.

    But in any case, it’d be awesome if Saban were to get this brought to the US and made into a Mystic Force MMO. Looks fun.

    I think a Power Rangers MMO with a Ranger Design feature (utilizing costumes and colors from every series) would be much more entertaining. Then again, I’m no game designer.

    I hope in 2013, they will make an MMO with  (if not all of them) the most popular series of power rangers for the 20th Anniversary. This would be simply awesome (plus if someone prefers the powers of the pink ranger etc. they could mix up their own unique costume and powers of any color they want. Of course, neither I am a game designer.

    I think that for an MMO it would be better to use the SPD series since they were police and as we could see in the series, they could be more rangers since it was just a rank.  For this I think it would be better SPD themed and like Ike said that way players could mix costumes and like Chuck said we could chose from every series.  And I am not a game designer either but I will study game design soon so, when I do, probably I will bring this idea to them  :)
