Modder Combines PS3 and Xbox 360 Into One Case, Reminds Us How Much We Need a Unified Console

Probably hurting for shelf space like the rest of us multiplatform gamers, reddit user timofend took it upon himself to fix the issue and put an old 80 gig model PlayStation 3 and a slim Xbox 360 into a PC tower. Not exactly the unified console every gamer hopes and dreams of, the PC tower mod does save a significant amount of space, and though one may suspect it to be, isn’t even liquid cooled, as timofend notes that when each machine is running simultaneously inside the tower, they only run at about 100 degrees Fahrenheit — something my launch model PS3 does on its own. Read on below to see a few pictures of the mod.

Place your bets on how long it will be before the xbox side blows up and needs replacement :)

One console, less competition, higher prices, less need to evolve and innovate.

    SHARP.

Not sure if you’ve been paying attention to the gaming industry lately, but no one is innovating right now, and everyone is separate. Most retail games are multiplatform releases, with the few exclusives per console. Even the control schemes aren’t innovative. Nintendo comes out with waggle control, so the other two do the same. No one is really evolving now.

Also, the reason why games would stay good is because the games are made by different software developers — Sony and Microsoft teaming up on a console wouldn’t make Naughty Dog, for example, try any less with the Uncharted series, nor would it make Epic try any less with Gears of War, since software competes with each other.
