Sane or Not: The Site for Sanity Rally Signs

Recommended Videos

Are you disappointed that there’s no way for you to make it to a certain Washington D.C. gathering?  Maybe you’re going, but can’t think of any good slogans for a sign?

Maybe you’re bored and looking for something to occupy yourself for the rest of the day?

Well then you could do worse than to head over to Saneornot.com and submit and rank some signs.  Who knows, maybe you’ll even see somebody with your submission?

Sane or Not, yes, set up by and announced on the Daily Show last night, is wholly a part of Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert‘s Rally to Restore Sanity and or Fear.  Of course one large concern for the success (and the getting-taken-seriously-ness) of the rally is to make sure that everybody doesn’t look like nutjobs, and that a minimum of people are carrying signs that don’t follow the spirit of the event.

Which can be tricky when you’re organizing a protest about staying calm.

Their solution is set up essentially like classic time-wasters thefunniest.info, thecutest.info, and thefairest.info.  You are presented with two submitted signs, and chose the saner of the two.  If you’d rather vote for neither, refresh the page.  Two rankings pages display the top twenty sanest and craziest signs.

Many of the top ranking sane signs are variations on ones specifically mentioned by Jon Stewart during the announcement of the rally, like “I Disagree With You, But I’m Pretty Sure You’re Not Hitler,” but there are some pretty good original ones too.

Personally, I’m hoping to see someone with one or more of the signs featured at the very top of this post. Don’t disappoint me, Internet.
