Here at Geekosystem, we don’t know art, but we know what we like, and it will come as no surprise to regular readers that we like robots. So when Genome Gallery in Charlotte, North Carolina announced their upcoming exhibition of art inspired by the robot apocalypse, it well and throughly got our attention. We’ve got a sneak preview of some of the works that will be on display for those of us who aren’t lucky enough to be on hand for the opening this weekend. If you’re in the Charlotte area this weekend, though, pay Genome Gallery a visit when the show opens this Saturday night.

No. 1 | Terminator Ape
This blend of two of our favorite sci-fi properties will no doubt haunt our dreams for weeks to come, but then again, we knew what we were getting into. The horror...the horror... By Jason Edmiston
-
No. 2 | The Mind Is Like A Stage
Between Don Knotts, Harley Quinn and the various other figures populating this painting, there seems to be a lot going on in this particular vision of the robot apocalypse. We have no problem believing that things will get at least this crazy at some point. By Aaron Jasinski

No. 3 | Relaxing Apocalypse
Then again, maybe the robot apocalypse won't be all that stressful! Maybe there will even be parts where we get to lounge about on the dock in the middle of the day, without a care in the world. That sounds nice. By Nathan Durfee

No. 4 | New Soul
This cute little robot has a human heart! We just don't want to think about the implications of where it came from... By Cleonique Hilsaca
-
No. 5 | Robot Heart
Meanwhile, this human being (we assume) has wrangled a robot heart. There is no doubt doing to be hell to pay when someone comes looking for that thing. By Crystal Barbre

No. 6 | Hunted by Robots
I think we've all felt hunted by robots at some point in our lives, but probably none of us have felt it quite so acutely as this fellow. By Dylan Moore
-
No. 7 | One Confused Cow
It's less the cow looking confused than the robot who gets us in this one, really. It just looks so lost and lonely, and that dumb cow is clearly being no help whatsoever. We know that feel, bro. By Nathan Durfee & Megan Aline

No. 8 | Marmot Terminator
We've never liked marmots, and now we know why. It turns out the furry little barking machines are really just cold-hearted robots at their core. Which makes a lot of sense, actually. By Henry Schreiber
