An archeologist friend of mine suggested that the gold plated helmets, armour and shields of classical ancients, gleeks, etc, actually were engineered to protect against solar irradiance. Comments please. The radiation definitely causes brain damage. The real technology and sciences have all evolved at the higher latitudes, regardless of ethnicicity again comments if you like . I sent an Email to The Economist, suggesting the above theory, and that we should beef up global gold mining, with a view to producing more protective equipment, a bit like the gold layer in the nasa astronauts visor, and do gold layers in car windscreens, and office windows, and definitely, on commercial airliner flights, windows, if not a layer across entire aircraft. comments please I would take this quite seriously.
