Astronauts Complete Final Spacewalk of Shuttle Career

Recommended Videos

Yesterday, space shuttle astronauts have completed the final spacewalk of the shuttle’s 30 year career. In the image above, astronaut Michael Fincke can be seen during the seven hour 24 minute spacewalk, working to extend the reach of the space station’s robotic arm. Space Shuttle Endeavour, on its final flight, hangs eerily above the planet.

Though a final shuttle mission is planned for July, there are no plans for any extravehicular activities. Another spectacular image and a bitter-sweet milestone on the shuttle’s road to retirement.
