Spaced is Available on Netflix Instant!

Probably one of the best comedy shows to ever hit television, Spaced is now available on Netflix Instant. From Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Edgar Wright, and Jessica Hynes, most of the people that brought you Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, Spaced is where the team really found their footing, and is perhaps even funnier and more clever than Shaun and Fuzz.
There are unfortunately only fourteen episodes of the half hour format show, but the episodes contain some of the best television comedy, and showcases the roots recurring themes in Pegg, Frost, and Wright’s work, including a few of the same jokes found throughout Shaun and Fuzz.
The series follows Pegg and Hynes, strangers who need a place to live and a roommate and happen to find each other and move in together, but are forced to pretend they are a happy couple because the landlady requires the prerequisite. Pegg is a struggling comic book artist, while Hynes is a struggling writer, and in proper sitcom fashion, the show mainly revolves around their day-to-day experiences trying to be people. What isn’t proper sitcom fashion, however, is everything else about it — from Pegg, Hynes, and Frost’s signature blend of comedy, to Wright’s signature quick cuts and fast-paced directing, Spaced really feels like you’re watching a lost entry in the Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz group — there’s even a few very familiar zombie and shootout scenes.
So, go watch Spaced if you’re living in 2012 and have Netflix Instant like the rest of us. It’s quite good.
