Set Phasers to Fun With This Star Trek Home Theater

One lucky homeowner will be boldly going where only they and their friends can go. This Star Trek-themed home theater is the final frontier of entertainment centers. The designer ESC even notes that the owner wanted “extremely high volume levels” combined with the specific interior design. And motorized sliding doors. Be still my heart.

The captain’s chair provides full control of the environment via a 15″ touchscreen. They don’t exactly detail what they mean by “full control” but if that includes the motorized sliding doors then I’m sold.

The designer’s website summarizes the theater like so:

The theater represents one of the most distinctive, technically and structurally advanced private theaters in the United States. The client insisted upon a unique and specific set of criteria including extremely high volume levels within a tasteful and highly-detailed Star Trek-themed architecture. Other technical assemblies unique to residential environments include motorized sliding doors, intelligent concert-type lighting and related DMX512 controls, and commercial-level HVAC, all coexisting seamlessly and reliably for a typical homeowner.

Perhaps the best part of the description is what’s being considered as the “typical homeowner” in this scenario. Is the typical homeowner really going to require lighting similar to a concert or “highly-detailed Star Trek-themed architecture” in their home theater? If that’s the case, sign me up.
