Story Tattooed Across 2,095 People, One Word at a Time
by James Plafke | 2:01 pm, March 25th, 2011
Writer Shelley Jackson is publishing a 2,095 word story, which wouldn’t be all that amazing, except it is tattooed across people, one word per person. The appropriately-titled “Skin” inks the tattoos on volunteers who must accept the word they are given, which can only be in black ink and in classic book font. The project launched all the way back in August 2003, though the website states that volunteers are still being accepted, which is honestly a little surprising–one would think there would be a bevy of volunteers to be a part of a neat project such as this. Head on over to the project’s website for all your questions, such as how to volunteer, or how to know if you’ll absolutely hate the story before you regret getting inked and being a part of what you may consider literary trash.
