Oh My Glob, You Guys: Cartoon Network Announces New Adventure Time Game
The Nintendo DS and 3DS game from WayForward, Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!!, was a bit slapdash, but overall entirely adorable. Short, sure, but fun. Cartoon Network and D3Publisher apparently heard the call for a longer, more expansive game, because it's been announced that WayForward is now developing Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON'T KNOW! for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and once again the Nintendo 3DS. Yeah, that's a thing that's happening.

This Adventure Time Statue is Made of Over 4,000 Wooden Cubes, Obviously Mathematical
It's pretty clear that we here at Geekosystem have a thing for Adventure Time. It's not an observation; it's fact. There's something about Pendleton Ward's creation that's oddly endearing while being strangely hilarious. We even interviewed the man. So when a 4.5 foot statue of Finn, made out of over 4,000 wooden cubes, goes on sale, it's something that interests us. Etsy user Evan Henry has crafted what is certainly the heftiest Adventure Time work to date, and it'll only run you $950.

Inside the Fun Factory: An Elucidating Discussion with Pendleton Ward, the Creator of Adventure Time
Pendleton Ward talks like you'd expect the creator of an anarchic frenetic, cartoon like Adventure Time with Finn and Jake to talk. His sentences often circle back on themselves, tinged with a West Coast laid-backness, which again seems quite commensurate with his job. But as cool and fun as his show is, it also has a big heart which was just as present when Ward spoke.Read on... -

Check Out These Completely Rad Adventure Time and Miyazaki Movie Mashups
Adventure Time and the animated films of Hayao Miyazaki are easily two of my favorite forms of eye candy. Now, the 17-year old (!!!) Deighvid has brought those two worlds (three if you count all the AT gender-swapped characters) together in his amazing fanart mashups. They're wonderful. See them all, after the break.Read on... -

In a Perfect World, This Adventure Time Video Game Would Exist
Artist Mike Gaboury dreamed a beautiful dream of an Adventure Time video game, and decided to share just a piece of that dream with us. Working in his spare time, and for no reward other than his love for the show, Gaboury animated the intro and start screen to an imaginary side-scrolling retro-style Adventure Time game. Though it's just a fan project, it is a tantalizing to think of what a full-fledged AT game in this style would be like. See the video, after the break.Read on... -

The 2010 Emmy Nominations: Ultimate Geek-Out
This morning, the 2010 Primetime Emmy Award nominations were announced. And while that's generally exciting for a TV nerd such as myself, this is a system for geeks you're reading on. So I have embarked on an epic mission: I am going through all the nominations (not just the elitist ones that actually get into the televised awards show), category by category, to provide a full-on geek perspective. The only ones that shall be skipped are those with no good geeky offerings, or the ones where you don't even know what the name of the category means. In other words, here's everything that matters to a geeky television viewer. For reference and your personal knowledge-accumulating pleasure, here is the full list of nominees. For those of you who care more about which shows prevailed, here is the nomination summary, that just states number of nominations per program without specifying the categories. I'm going to be going in order through the categories as they appear in the full list linked above so that it's easy for you to follow along at home. Ready? Let's begin.
