Ubuntu’s Ominous Countdown Reveals Ubuntu Phone and Mobile OS
For days now Ubuntu's site has featured an ominous countdown and the words "So close, you can almost touch it." The countdown ended with the release of a virtual keynote by Canonical founder Mark Shuttleworth touting a new mobile version of Ubuntu, and the "Ubuntu Phone." Shuttleworth says the new goal for Ubuntu is to create "one platform for all kinds of computing." The aim is have Ubuntu powering phones, computers, television, and the cloud.

[UPDATED] Life on Mars? NASA Live Streaming Noon Press Conference to Answer (Probably Disappointingly)
Last month NASA said that the Curiosity Rover had found something historic on Mars, and everyone's mind, ours included, jumped right to the conclusion that what they found was life, or at least evidence of life. A few days after that announcement, they basically told everyone to chill out. They said the findings were important, but not as ground-breaking as everyone seemed to think. Finally, on Friday, they straight up tweeted that what they found wasn't life. What did they find? They're holding a press conference at noon EST to make that announcement and you can watch it right here with us.

Apple Announces iPhone OS 4, Microsoft Announces… That They Will Announce Something
Not seven days after the launch of the iPad, Apple has sent out media invitations to a “sneak peek of the next generation of iPhone OS software” to take place this Thursday at the company's Cupertino campus. According to The Apple Blog, the likely new features of this OS are multitasking and possibly multitouch gestures, a unified mail inbox, and a movement towards paying for updates rather than getting them free. Microsoft has also announced an event, but are being a bit more close-lipped regarding the specific content of said media smorgasbord.Read on...
