Here Comes A New Challenger! The Tobias Funke/Capcom Mashup The Internet Has Been Waiting For
Yesterday, we were almost giddy over the news that you can now green screen Arrested Development's Tobias Funke (doctor, actor, and the world's first analrapist) into any video through the promotional magic of the new InsertMeAnywhere tool. We were so excited at this development, though, that we actually may have missed one of the other awesome uses for InsertMeAnywhere -- putting the many faces of Tobias Funke to work in video games. Capcom didn't miss a beat, though, and their supercut of Tobias guest-starring in a number of classic Capcom games has officially won Tobias Funke green screens. Well, it's won Round One, anyway.

The latest piece of promotional brilliance is With InsertMeAnywhere, which you can use to cram up to 100% more Tobias Funke into any existing video, from cinematic classics to home movies.

Every Arrested Development Running Gag in One Amazing Interactive Visualization
Well, it was a nice workday while it lasted. But it's already mid-morning, and the time for productivity has come to an end. The time for goofing around on Recurring Developments, an interactive map of every running gag -- every awkward shoulder rub, every huge mistake, every "Her?" -- in the first three seasons of Arrested Development has just begun. If you can't catch up on the episodes by brazenly just watching television at work, this is probably the next best thing, though it would probably serve to keep an important looking Word document open in another window. You know, just in case your co-workers didn't get the memo that we have half-day.

The Final Countdown Begins: New Arrested Development Trailer is Here, Has Kind of a Lot of Birds
I mean, not, like, a lot a lot of birds? But definitely more birds than I was expecting. Also, one of them is an ostrich, a bird so big that it clearly counts double, even though it can't fly. Let's don't get hung up on the birds, though. With less than two weeks to go until the fourth season of Arrested Development makes its glorious debut on Netflix, this new trailer also hosts plenty of things you would expect from the show including but not limited to: The stair car. Bluth model homes falling apart. Gob's
magic tricksillusions.Read on... -

Arrested Development Has Character Posters and They Are Making Our Lives Better
Sometimes, in our rush to cover stories about weird stuff like dark lightning and make Glen eat weird things that are terrible for him, the story of the week slips by us unnoticed. Clearly, the most important story of this week is Arrested Development's new character posters, which we present here for your perusal. Here's hoping they make your day as immeasurably better as they've made ours. If there's a possibility that we could get more excited for the show's impending return on Netflix next month, this might just do it.

Spotify Reportedly Set to Launch Video Service With Original Content
Spotify has all but eliminated my need to ever buy music. For a few bucks a month I can queue up practically any song I can think of and rock out. Now they supposedly want to bring that same level of convenience to video. Reports say Spotify is going to launch a video streaming service like Netflix that will offer original content -- also like Netflix. That's all well and good, but I already have Netflix.

Don’t Make a Huge Mistake: Try to Win One of Six Arrested Development Walk-On Roles
As everyone should know by now, Netflix has backed a new season of Arrested Development. It'll include the entire original cast, and is basically the most exciting thing to happen to television that was previously cancelled ever. Though we might never see Firefly hit the screen again, we'll always have the Bluth family reunion as brought to us by Netflix. Even better than merely watching the new season, six lucky fans can win a walk-on role by proving how obsessed they are with the show. This can only end well.

Killer Whales Cared for by Mom Well Into 30s; Research Into Their Comic Book Collections Ongoing
Despite their (largely deserved) reputation as merciless hunters and place as one of the apex predators in the world, male orcas, or killer whales, live with and depend on their mothers well into adulthood. A study published this week in the journal Science suggests that this dependence may be the reason behind the surprisingly long menopause experienced by most female orcas. Female killer whales are known to live into their 90s, but are usually done having children in their 30s. It appears the impetus behind that is to get the breeding out of the way early, so they can spend the rest of their lives caring for their sons, whose dads, occasional girlfriends, and bosses at the call center perpetually just don't get them.Read on... -

Familiar Faces, Wacky Outfits in Pictures From Arrested Development Season 4
If you thought it was too good to be true, there is now photographic evidence of the existence of the new season of Arrested Development. It has been noted in the past that this season will be a limited run on Netflix, and will be a precursor to the long-fabled Arrested Development movie. The season will have ten episodes that run exclusively on Netflix (shortly before they're inevitably plastered all over the Internet), and have been said to focus more on what the separate characters have been doing with their lives since the show ended in 2006. Due to the collective power of the Internet, we have a handful of pictures from the filming of the upcoming season, which includes a bunch of actors from Comedy Central's Workaholics, as well as Dr. Tobias Fünke in some weird sheet outfit, with a glimpse of his never nude shorts sticking out. Check out the pictures below, and if you don't already have a Netflix account for some reason, you'll probably want to look into that sometime before everyone's favorite show has new episodes available on the service.

Arrested Development to Return for One Limited Season Before Fabled Movie
At the New Yorker Festival last night, Arrested Development creator Mitchell Hurwitz and most of the show's cast participated in a panel discussion regarding the show, and Hurwitz revealed that the show would be returned for a limited television season -- about nine to ten episodes long -- leading up to the fabled Arrested Development movie. The original cast would return, reprising their roles, and each episode would focus on a main character of the show, which Hurwitz feels would provide enough backstory to get the movie started without having to spend half of the movie telling the story of where each character has been for the past five years. Hurwitz explains:
"Just creatively, I have been working on the screenplay for a long time and found that as time went by, there was so much more to the story. In fact, where everyone’s been for five years became a big part of the story. So in working on the screenplay, I found even if I just gave five minutes per character to that back story, we were halfway through the movie before the characters got together.”
Hurwitz claims he and his team are about 80 percent finalized for all of your Arrested Development dreams to take place, with the popular rumor floating around the Internet that the limited-run series would air on Showtime or Netflix.
