This is not a rumor.  It’s in the freaking New York Times. The Dark Knight Rises will star, among others, Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, an Tom Hardy as Bane.

At least we now know, at long last, that Tom Hardy’s beard has nothing to do with his role in TDKR.

Christopher Nolan Confirms Inception Video Game

Remember when we said an Inception video game could become reality? Well, an Inception video game became reality. Christopher Nolan, the director-within-a-writer-within-a-producer who is essentially responsible for all of the dream-within-a-dream memes flying around the Internet, told Insider Movies that a game set in the world of Inception is currently in development, [insert joke about which world-within-a-world of Inception here.]

Nolan didn’t divulge any details, other than the game is “a longer-term proposition,” but one can only imagine the player will be going deeper at some point.

Batman 3 Is The Dark Knight Rises

The LA Times‘ Hero Complex will be running an interview with Christopher Nolan later this morning, but before it went up, they have teased some very, very exciting Batman 3 news from it.

In a nutshell:

  • The movie will be called The Dark Knight Rises.
  • It will not be in 3D.
  • The Riddler will not be the main villain.

Deadline is reporting that Tom Hardy has been cast in Christopher Nolan’s new Batman movie, reuniting the pair since their work on Inception. Apparently, the strapping young man has been cast in a lead role, though whether or not the role is the movie’s villain is still undisclosed.

Inception Beats Salt: Still #1 Movie at the Box Office

Turns out the early speculation that Salt was likely to beat out Inception at the box office this past weekend was premature: Inception is still the #1 box office movie in America, with a box office of $43.5 million, bringing its U.S. total up to $143.6 million for its first ten days in theaters. Salt, for its part, didn’t do too shabbily, taking the #2 spot with #36.5 million.

Are box office horse races a little silly? Sure. But we at least understand the origins of this one:
