Conan O’Brien

Rent the Conan Studio on AirBNB

AirBNB, the couch surfing service that allows one to rent an entire country if they so wish, has a listing for the Conan studio. No, not that Conan, and there’s only one of those Conans as far as we’re concerned. The funnier one. Team Coco has put Conan O’Brien’s studio up for rent on AirBNB, available for a few days from October 10 to October 13. Amenities include a “celebrity-grazed” sleeper sofa and an air mattress that has fallen in disrepair.  Of course, one must wonder if Team Coco is going to have one of the sketchy AirBNB experiences.

Hacker News points out that the couch surfers booking the studio will be filmed for the show, so they must be okay with that, making the AirBNB rental some sort of comedy bit more than a publicity stunt. Those comedians and their comedy. Head on past the break to check out the studio’s amenities, and check out the listing over on AirBNB.

NBC Wanted to Stop Conan from Tweeting

When NBC fired Conan O’Brien last year in favor of giving Jay Leno his time slot back, they worked out a deal in which O’Brien was forbidden from appearing on TV and/or disparaging the network that dangled the Tonight Show in front of him and then snatched it back. What we do know is that not long after that deal was made, O’Brien took to Twitter. What we didn’t know until now was that NBC wanted that Twitter account shut down. Because when you’ve already disappointed so many fans in the 18 to 49 demographic, why not go big or go home? Definitely go after a former employee’s Twitter account. Brilliant!

Conan O’Brien Gives Us A First Look At Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark

Last night Conan O’Brien treated us to a sneak preview of the songs and technology that have gone into the multimillion dollar Spider-Man musical, and boy does it shine. Man!Wonder Woman was a daring, avant garde choice, but mostly it was very effective comic book nerd trolling.

Guy Dressed as Harry Potter Derails Conan O’brien

We demand that two brave souls show up to Monday’s taping of Conan dressed as cows.

Um.  Look, just watch the video.

Google “Watch Conan,” Check the First Result … Problem?

This is the first result you get when you Google “Watch Conan.” Huh?

From a search engine optimization perspective, this is probably because the URL in question is http://www.nbc.com/the-tonight-show rather than, say, nbc.com/jay-leno-tonight-show, so it would presumably gotten a lot of Conan-centric backlinks when O’Brien was helming the show. Since Conan’s show just started on TBS, it probably won’t be long until teamcoco.com or the SEO’d up TBS page, http://www.tbs.com/video/conan/ (title tag: “Watch Conan O’Brien Full Episodes, Conan Videos, Conan Comedy Clips @ TeamCoco.com”) get the glory, but it’s still ironic and a little evil that Jay Leno presently snags the top spot.

Apparently, more than 40,000 people search “watch Conan” every month; sorry guys.

Conan O’Brien’s Series Premiere Cold Open [Video]

Last night, Conan O’Brien made his triumphant return to television basic cable on TBS with Conan. “People ask me why I named the show ‘Conan.’ I did it so I’d be harder to replace.” (h/t TDW)

The new Conan show’s series premiere cold open, above, recounts what O’Brien has been doing in the interim since he left NBC. Gun-toting thugs are involved. Also, guest Seth Rogen apparently announced that he was engaged on the show (not to Tuba Girl, but to longtime girlfriend Lauren Miller), so huh, that’s news.

Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert Crash Conan O’Brien’s Show, Get Shot by Andy Richter

As many know, Conan O’Brien is finishing up his Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour before his fall stint on TBS starts up.  Last night, he swung through his hometown, New York City, to play a night on the NBC campus, presumably just to tell them they can suck it one last time.

Well, New York happens to be the home of a couple of other pretty funny guys, and they put in a “shockingly under-rehearsed” appearance. Blurry video below (it fares better in 480p and full screen).
