5 Things You Might’ve Missed in the Sucker Punch Trailer

Style over substance he may be, but Zack Snyder undeniably creates knock-out visuals. His trailers for 300 and Watchmen were two of the most hype-generating previews in recent cinematic history (the lackluster exception being his upcoming CG movie Legend of the Guardians). Now, it looks like he’s turned the volume higher (all the way to eleven!), with this tease of nearly every geeky trope possible: girls with guns and swords, seedy mafia goons, giant samurais brandishing Gatling guns, steampunk zeppelins, fire-breathing dragons, spaceships, futuristic cities, and enormous robots.

Entertainment Weekly has gotten their mitts on the first promotional poster for Mad Men Season 4. Geeky? Borderline, maybe, but hey — it’s Mad Men. Madmin.

Coming Soon: Mad Men Barbie Dolls

Attention, Mad Men fans: Mattel has heard your prayers for $75 Barbie and Ken dolls in the style of your favorite characters from the show, and they have decided to answer them. Mad Men characters Joan Holloway, Roger Sterling, Betty Draper, and (of course) Don Draper are getting the Barbiefication treatment, although the stick-thin Joan doll certainly belies New York Magazine‘s recent cover story on Christina Hendricks and the rebirth of voluptuousness.

Jon Hamm: Superhero?

Mad Men fans know Jon Hamm as the smooth-as-silk ad exec Don Draper; non-fans may recognize him as “that hunky dude who has done some funny stuff on Saturday Night Live.

Now, fans are pushing for a new sort of role for Hamm: superhero. Hamm as Superman? Hamm as Captain America? Hamm as Batman, even? The possibilities are nigh endless, even if sexy, saxophone-playing ponytail man Sergio might not carry over to the silver screen.
