Doctor Who to Film in America for the First Time Ever

Doctor Who, Britain’s long-running sci-fi show about a time traveling Time Lord who fixes everything everywhere, will be filming in the United States for the first time in the television series’ 47 year history for the upcoming season.

The bits filmed in the US will be filmed in Utah, of all places, and will be a part of the upcoming season’s two part opener written by current series head Stephen Moffat. The story arc will apparently lead to the White House, though America-related Doctor Who rumors have turned up empty in the past.

Teachers Find Homeless Dalek in Their School

Teachers at the West Exe Learning Centre in St. Thomas, England have a problem. It’s not that a Dalek has appeared somewhat spontaneously on their campus, threatening all with it’s inevitable waking into full exterminating consciousness. It’s that no one has come forth to claim it.

Says Sue Wiley, deputy manager of the Centre:

“We’d like to return him to his owner if possible because he’s taking up quite a lot of room and is living in a cupboard at the moment.”

Rumor: Lady Gaga on Dr. Who?

This is highly speculative, but it’s just to weird not to mention.

Lady Gaga might be in an episode of Dr. Who. According to Gareth Roberts, scriptwriter for the show,

She is no stranger to dressing up and would be more than a match for the Doctor. It would be a great coup to get her.

Neil Gaiman To Write Dr. Who

In a gesture of appreciation to the readers and writers of the magazine SFX, Neil Gaiman has shared some very exciting news with them: He is writing an episode of Dr. Who.

We can’t decide whether we’re more surprised that this is happening, or more surprised that it hasn’t happened already, really.

In his own words, “As anyone who’s read my blog knows, I’m a big fan of a certain long-running British SF TV series. One that started watching — from behind the sofa — when I was three.”
