The Game Boy Swimsuit
The guys who brought us the R2-D2 swimsuit and the C-3PO swimsuit are back with everyone's favorite handheld video game console that saved them the despair of a crosscountry road trip when they were younger -- the Game Boy -- in the form of a swimsuit. Black Milk Design seems to be on a roll with geeky-themed, yet tastefully cut swimsuits, but one has to wonder what happens while swimming in this swimsuit at night. Will Black Milk Design release a Light Boy attachment? Either way, the Game Boy swimsuit isn't currently available, though if it is priced similarly to the aforementioned droid-themed swimsuits, it'll cost around 80 to 90 bucks. Check back with Black Milk Design sometime soon to see the release of the suit and head on past the jump to see what the back of the swimsuit looks like.

iPhone App Takes Game Boy Camera-Style Photos
Sorry, Instagram, Hipstamatic, Color, et al., but there's a new whimsical iPhone photo app in town, and it's likely to resonate with the 8-bit generation. Taking its cue from the pixellated l'il greyscale photos taken by the original Game Boy Camera, a 99-cent app called 8-Bit Pocket Camera allows users to memorialize their most cherished moments as 200x200 pixel TIFFs.
The app faithfully re-creates the options you might have found in the original Nintendo device and adds more. You can flick through various styles, create multi-panel images, and distort your view for fun. Once the images have been taken, you can edit the border and paper color, before exporting to the Camera Roll or emailing to friends.
That shuffling noise you just heard was the sound of a thousand Twitter and Tumblr avatars trendily switching. (via Cult of Mac | 8-Bit Pocket Camera)Read on... -

Game Boy iPod
I missed this awesome casemod when it made the online rounds a while back, but thanks to the magic of Tumblr, I've discovered Ryan Luke Johns' clever iBoy design. As diagrammed above, it's got the hardware of an iPod wrapped up in a classic Game Boy case, with a dock connector cleverly inserted such that the Game Boy buttons correspond to iPod functions. The iBoy is an iPod case with an internal dock connector—allowing the user to control the iPod with the buttons of an outdated Game Boy. Complete with a functioning speaker, hold switch, and headphone port, the iBoy is a user-friendly theft-deterrent.
The iPod has evolved and segmented quite a bit since Johns designed the iBoy in 2006, but this would still look pretty boss with an iPod Classic. (iBoy via It's all for you via EPICponyz | Artist's page)Read on... -

Nintendo’s Long Legacy of Stubbornness
With the release of a third generation Wii Remote containing features that should've been in the controller the first or second time around, Nintendo continues a longstanding company tradition that many fans may not associate with the famed developer: Being stubborn. From gamers to non-gamers, "Nintendo" is a household name across the world. Just about everyone can at least identify Mario if given a picture of a fat dude with a big mustache in red overalls. The venerable brand has a storied history full of wonderful ups and terrible downs. Nintendo has left many a legacy, from the success of portable gaming, popularizing the analog stick and force feedback controllers, and even bringing gaming to a much wider audience. But Nintendo is very, very stubborn.Read on... -

Paper Game Boy Is Paper — But You’d Never Know It
French design duo Zim & Zou have given a new meaning to "Paperboy" with their remarkable Paper Game Boy designs, which imitate an old-school (and tropical-tinted) Game Boy Color as well as the classic, clunky grey original Game Boy. You can even play Tetris on them! Well, not really, but it looks like you can.
