In Tribute to Harold Ramis, Here’s Ghostbusters Reenacted With Kittens

Thanks to the adorable reenactments from The Pet Collective, the Internet can now pay tribute to a fallen hero pretty much the only way the Internet knows how: with cats. Harold Ramis will be sorely missed, but Ghostbusters (and now its adorable kitten version) will live on forever.

Teach Your Kids About Ghostbusters With This Custom Made Ecto-1 Cozy Coupe

We're all still in mourning of the passing of fallen Ghostbuster Harold Ramis, but maybe we can channel that grief into something productive and worthwhile. You know, like modifying a Little Tykes Cozy Coupe car to look like the car Egon Spengler drove around in while chasing down the supernatural forces that threaten our city.

LEGO came, LEGO saw, and LEGO kicked ass. Today, LEGO CUUSOO announced the results of their fan-creation competition, and though there were lots of great finalists—including a female mini-fig set I'd still love to see—only one CUUSOO finalist is making it to mass-production today: the Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary Playset!

Comics to Read After Last Night’s Agents of SHIELD “The Well”

Last night's episode of SHIELD was the much-hyped tie-in with Thor: The Dark World, so if you want to get a better understanding of the episode (really just the cold open) then be sure to see the movie. As for the rest of the episode, here are some comics we think you should read, plus a little supplemental viewing material.

The Streams Have Officially Crossed: Ghostbusters Might Be Getting the Room 237 Treatment

Ghostbusters is one of the best comedic films of all time,  but you know what it doesn't have? A meticulously overwrought movie-length dissection of visual imagery and loosely related symbolic meanings done entirely by overenthusiastic fans. You know, like the one that director Rodney Ascher put together for Stanley Kubrick's The Shining in his documentary, Room 237. Luckily some inventive YouTube users have stepped up to fill this void and released a trailer for their own documentary, Spook Central, meant to uncover hidden truths in the 1984 classic. Wait -- 1984! Like the book! That's probably intentional! So many meanings to unpack.

Red Hot Ball of Nickel Turns Honey Into Slime From Ghostbusters II [Video]

Oh sure, we've all thought about what it would be like to drop a ball of hot nickel into a big pot of honey, but few have ever dared to act on it. Thankfully, we live in a world with YouTube and its user carsandwater who has an affinity for heating objects up, and then doing weird stuff with them. His latest experiment turns ordinary looking honey into what looks an awful lot like the slime from Ghostbuster II, only instead of using New York City's negative energy, carsandwater uses a red hot ball of metal.

Ghostbusters Theme Played on Floppy Drives is a Sterling Example of the Genre

Floppy drive music is something we've come to know and love here at Geekosystem. Good examples of the genre are few and far between, unfortunately, but sorting the wheat from the chaff can be a difficult job. MrSolidSnake745 continues in his efforts to make the search as painless as possible by creating his most recent video: The Ghostbusters theme, as played by eight floppy drives.

Cross the Streams and Enjoy This Delicious Ghostbusters Cake

I think we can all agree that everything about this Ghostbusters cake is fantastic. First and foremost is the excellent assembly and frosting of the Stay Puft marshmallow man -- not to mention the fact that he's bleeding actual marshmallow fluff. Personally, my favorite aspect is how the baker chose to use a collection of vintage The Real Ghostbusters action figures for the creation. A true master stroke! If you ain't afraid of no cakes, read on for more images.

Bill Murray Career Highlights in One Infographic

Sometimes, you have an annoying morning. Your credit card maxes out on a train ticket, your computer crashes twice before noon, you forget your lunch and have to buy one, right after being reminded that you have no money to spare at the moment. And then, you see this. Bill Murray. And pretty much all the things he has done to make you (aka "me") happy. With the exception of Garfield, but the man needs to work. I will not begrudge him Garfield. But the Shakespeare-reciting bum in the Saturday Night Live short "Perchance to Dream" (precursor to today's Digital Shorts) would have been nice, not to mention his turn in Jim Jarmusch's Broken Flowers. To say nothing of Bob! What about Bob?? But these will suffice. Thank you, Bill Murray, and thank you, Bill Murray Infographic. (Flavorwire via The Daily What)
