Oh sure, we've all thought about what it would be like to drop a ball of hot nickel into a big pot of honey, but few have ever dared to act on it. Thankfully, we live in a world with YouTube and its user carsandwater who has an affinity for heating objects up, and then doing weird stuff with them. His latest experiment turns ordinary looking honey into what looks an awful lot like the slime from Ghostbuster II, only instead of using New York City's negative energy, carsandwater uses a red hot ball of metal.

We love Ghostbusters as much as the next guy, unless the next guy is Ghostbuster Italia member Guusc72. He clearly has the edge on us, on you, and on just about every Ghostbusters fan out there. He built an incredibly detailed replica of the basement set from Ghostbusters, complete with a containment unit with movie accurate lights, sounds, and even a destruct mode. Horror movies and Halloween go together like football and Thanksgiving, or Christmas and screaming recriminations. No doubt plenty of our livelier cohorts will be doing things they can feel bad about posting on Facebook later on tonight, but for those of us who are staying in tonight like dang old grownups, we put together a list of our favorite selections for Halloween that you can access right from your Netflix Instant Queue. These movies are guaranteed instant Halloween -- just add a snack, an adult beverage of your choice, and someone to snuggle up with for the scary parts.

Floppy drive music is something we've come to know and love here at Geekosystem. Good examples of the genre are few and far between, unfortunately, but sorting the wheat from the chaff can be a difficult job. MrSolidSnake745 continues in his efforts to make the search as painless as possible by creating his most recent video: The Ghostbusters theme, as played by eight floppy drives.

I think we can all agree that everything about this Ghostbusters cake is fantastic. First and foremost is the excellent assembly and frosting of the Stay Puft marshmallow man -- not to mention the fact that he's bleeding actual marshmallow fluff. Personally, my favorite aspect is how the baker chose to use a collection of vintage The Real Ghostbusters action figures for the creation. A true master stroke! Sometimes, you have an annoying morning. Your credit card maxes out on a train ticket, your computer crashes twice before noon, you forget your lunch and have to buy one, right after being reminded that you have no money to spare at the moment. And then, you see this. Bill Murray. And pretty much all the things he has done to make you (aka "me") happy. With the exception of Garfield, but the man needs to work. I will not begrudge him Garfield. But the Shakespeare-reciting bum in the Saturday Night Live short "Perchance to Dream" (precursor to today's Digital Shorts) would have been nice, not to mention his turn in Jim Jarmusch's Broken Flowers. It's hard to believe, but Bill Murray is 60 years old today. Murray was born in Wilmette, Illinois on September 21st, 1950; in 1976, he joined the cast of Saturday Night Live for the show's second season. After starring in Meatballs in 1979, Murray went on to star in a series of successful comedies in the '80s, including Caddyshack, Stripes (above), and Ghostbusters. He then went on to reinvent himself with his starring role in Rushmore in 1998, re-reinvent  himself with his starring role in Lost in Translation in 2003, kick ass in Jim Jarmusch films, accidentally star in Garfield because he thought it was a Coen Brothers movie, chill in his mansion in the middle of the zombie apocalypse in Zombieland, and hilariously passive-aggressively trash Ghostbusters 3 every chance he gets nowadays. In short, he is still a giant of comedy and a monument to reinvented relevance, and for this, we salute him.

Next month, LA's Gallery 1988 will be putting on an art show called the 3G Show. But tributes to the third generation of mobile cellular phone standards need not apply: Rather, the three G's are Ghostbusters, Goonies, and Gremlins. Brilliant.

On last night's Late Show, Bill Murray -- who, you may recall, was David Letterman's first guest on his first show in 1982 -- came on to discuss Ghostbusters 3, in which, the word on the street says, Murray will be returning to play sarcastic womanizing Ghostbuster Dr. Peter Venkman.

Murray said that he would be in Ghostbusters 3, but only if "they killed [him] off in the first reel," and that they'd figured out a way to do it; this jibes with the rumor that he'll play a ghost in the movie. In general, though, he seemed down on Ghostbusters: he called the movie his "nightmare," and expressed doubt that it would ever actually be made ("it's crazy talk"). He did have fond memories of making the Ghostbusters video game, though.

Times were tough in the '30s: not only was unemployment high due to the Great Depression, but slime-spewing ghosts and marshmallow men ravaged the land. Fortunately, the Paranormal Elimination Administration was there to solve both problems at once, and make some pretty neat reimagined Ghostbusters posters in the process.
