Artist Creates Machine That Makes Rainbows

Michael Jones McKean, professor at the Virginia Commonwealth University, created a machine that makes artificial rainbows out of natural materials. The machine uses high-powered jet pumps and custom fountain nozzles to spray recycled rainwater into the air in such a way that it forms rainbows. The machine is solar-powered and generates renewable electricity.

McKean is planning to install a larger iteration of his rainbow machine at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts in Omaha, Nebraska.

Unfortunately for Kono, he can’t get too far. At least not without another extension cord.
