Mojang, the game company that brought us the much beloved Minecraft, has overhauled the website for their forthcoming game Scrolls and revealed more about the digital collectable card game than ever before. They have announced how the game will be rolling out, including a closed Alpha starting this month.

2 Player Productions, the folks who are responsible for Penny Arcade TV and the Minecraft documentary, have been working on something else as well, a Scrolls documentary. And they've released the first slice of it. And I've embedded it above, for your pleasure.

As you might expect, Notch makes a few appearances in the clip, but the focus of this project is more on Jakob Porser, clever developer in his own right and the lead on the Scrolls project. There's a lot to cover when you're talking about Scolls, namely the Bethesda lawsuit, which is touched on briefly in the released clip.

We occasionally write about this game called Minecraft on this site, and when we heard that the Minecraft team had revealed details about their next project at GDC, our ears naturally perked up. Titled Scrolls, the new game from Mojang will take the form of a collectable card game (!), and aims to remedy "common gameplay flaws" in the CCG genre.
