Jimmy Fallon Officially Taking Over The Tonight Show If Jay Leno Ever Steps Down
It's as official as it's going to get: Jay Leno is stepping down from The Tonight Show again and Jimmy Fallon will be replacing him, though we've all been here before. The switch is expected to happen during NBC's coverage of the Winter Olympics next year, and will bring The Tonight Show back to New York City under Lorne Michaels as Executive Producer. Will it all go down smoothly, or are we in for another round of late night wars?

This Autotuned Super Bowl Superfan Supercut Proves Folks Sure Do Like Sports [Video]
We here at Geekosystem aren't what you'd call major sports fans. Well, except Ian, but he's the odd man out. Even so, we're more than willing to watch the Super Bowl when the time comes, and we get that people get really invested in their teams. Jimmy Fallon seems to understand this as well. He asked his viewers to submit videos of themselves in their team gear, talking about why they're fans, and saying "woo" at least once. Well, Fallon then had the people behind Auto-Tune the News make it into a music video, and it's glorious.Read on... -

Super Grover… 2.0?
Super Grover, the bumbling but lovable blue, furry monster superhero has reached a very important milestone in a super-hero's development: his first major costume update. While that body armor will come in hand for the frequent crash landings, to be honest we're wondering why Super Grover needed any improvements at all. We do know that Sesame Street's theme for this season of programming is investigation, emphasizing the STEM curriculum of science, technology, engineering, and math that the Obama administration has been publicizing in several ways, and that Super Grover is going to be a big part of demonstrating investigation and other pre-school introductions to the scientific method. Well, maybe the super-celebrity answered our question in his interview with Jimmy Fallon this Friday...Read on... -

Jimmy Fallon + Neil Young + Double Rainbow = Viral Video Gold
When a segment on the TV show features Fallon, as Neil Young, singing a song using the lyrics from the Double Rainbow Guy, the real success won't come on TV, but online.
Fallon has played Neil Young a couple other times (more background from the Late Night blog) but this was the first song that was generated by a purely internet creation. Either way, Fallon is amassing quite a few musical hits through Late Night sketches.
It’s one thing to hear the Double Rainbow guy ask “what does it mean?” and say “It’s starting to look like a triple rainbow,” but it’s entirely different to hear Neil Young sing it.

3DS Confirmed for 2011 Release On… Jimmy Fallon?
Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo America, made an appearance on this Friday's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to show off Donkey Kong Country Returns and the Nintendo 3DS. While there he let slip some info on the 3DS' release schedule, during an interview made a little awkward by the fact that both host and guest were also trying to play their way through a level of Donkey Kong. Frankly, we don't think we would have been any more coherent.Read on... -

Betty White Coming to SNL On May 8th: Thanks, Facebook [Followup]
We've previously reported that the Facebooking hordes successfully petitioned SNL to get Betty White to host. Mow, we've got a date: May 8th, the night before Mother's Day.
USA Today is reporting that Betty White will be hosting the May 8 broadcast of Saturday Night Live after refusing the spot for years. White, whose legendary status has persisted to a younger generation through her role in The Proposal, playing beer pong with Jimmy Fallon, and, yes, those Golden Girls reruns on Lifetime, became the center of a Facebook campaign to get her to host after the debut of her new Snickers ad during the Super Bowl. And Lorne Michaels couldn’t sound happier about it:

“Lazy Sunday” Goes Live On Fallon
Back in 2005, the first viral video hit that put Saturday Night Live's Digital Shorts on the map was "Lazy Sunday," which touted the virtues of the Chronic(...les of Narnia). With former SNL cast member Chris Parnell a guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, the taped short was performed live for the first time last night:
