Commodore Is Making an Up-to-Date Computer in a Very Familiar Old Case

We’ve all seen the photos, YouTube videos, and, if we’re lucky, hardware that comes about when some devoted retro tech enthusiast stuffs modern insides into beloved retro-style casings. But what if the maker of beloved retro things did the stuffing for us, and sold the product to the public?

That, anyway, seems to be the premise behind the Commodore PC64, made by Commodore USA, which features “an exact replica of the original beige chassis Commodore C64,” but equipped with (deep breath): “an Intel Atom 525 CPU with NVIDIA Ion2 graphics, 4GB DDR3 memory, 1TB Hdd, HDMI, DVD/CD optical drive (Blu-ray optional), dual-link DVI, six USB ports, integrated 802.11n WiFi, bluetooth and a 6-in-1 media card reader.”

If all goes according to plan, you’ll be able to buy a PC64 around Christmas; pricing details aren’t yet available.

Keyboard Shoes Come In Different Types [Pics]

If only you could write the next great American novel while taking a walk in the park. Well, now, you still can’t, but you can take a walk in the park in these kick-ass QWERTY kicks. Features include a sole that looks like a keyboard. Features sadly don’t include a Caps Lock key that forces you to stomp around until you manage to land on that precise button again, a space bar that moves you forward a step without you actually walking, or a delete key that can destroy all enemies in your path. I’m assuming those are all coming in the second generation.
