Since everyone here could really use it, this is a minute and a half of kittens stretching. There is also some footage of kittens snuggling in there for good measure, and it's all set to some rather soothing music. If anyone needs me this weekend, I'll be watching this on a continuous loop and eating ice cream straight from the pint. I assume I'll be in good company. Take care everyone, and maybe hold a good thought for everyone who had to lose someone senselessly or live their life in mortal terror in the past few days. Stay safe, and let's hope the universe is a little less terrifying next week.

Sometimes we bite off more than we can chew, and other times we don't bite at all and just try to swallow an entire mouse. Everyone's tried to swallow a whole mouse before, right? No? Well, Socks sure has. He's an 8-week-old kitten who is adorable because he is a kitten, but he is also a remorseless killing machine. Socks, despite the fact that his teeny tiny wittle kitten mouth wasn't yet big enough, swallowed an entire mouse, but the tail became lodged in his throat. I can has Heimlich?

Researchers at the New Orleans-based Audubon Center for Research of Endangered Species presented two rare African Black-Footed kittens demonstrating major advances in animal reproductive science and also general adorableness. The two male kittens, as yet unnamed, were produced through a demonstration of long-term genetic material and embryo storage that may give hope for preventing the extinction of other rare species in captivity. The research at the institute also aims to use ubiquitous domestic cats as surrogates for rare species. The story of these cats begins in 2003 when sperm from the father, Ramses, was frozen and sent to the Audubon center. In 2005, embryos were created through artificial insemination from the egg donor, Zora, and frozen again in a frozen slush with liquid nitrogen, which prevented damage to the cells that occur in hard-freezing. The embryos were then implanted into Bijou this past December, with the pair of male kittens born in February

Booby trapping a cat to turn it into a bowling ball is pretty ingenius, and thankfully, it's just plastic cups instead of heavy pins, so approval all around.

Thankfully, this picture of a kitty dyed to look like a Pikachu isn't real, it's an impressive Photoshop job. Knowing that this kitty wasn't put through the abuse of an extensive dye job, I can now not feel so terrible for thinking it's adorable.
