The time has come for a member of the Fantastic Four, that stalwart superhero group. For several issues, Marvel comics has been ringing a death knell for someone in the quartet-soon-to-be trio, and today the speculation comes to an end with issue #587.

If Green Lantern Was Really About Deadpool

We realize that not everyone coming to this site is a comic book person, so here’s the tl;dr on Deadpool:

  • He is the Marvel universe’s amoral, unbalanced, near-indestructible, wise cracking, fourth-wall-breaking, weirdo mercenary.
  • A Deadpool-in-name-only appeared in Wolverine: Origins, played by Ryan Renolds.
  • Ryan Renolds is starring in Green Lantern.
  • The Green Lantern trailer wasn’t really that awesome.  This trailer is.

The Fantastic Four to Become the Fantastic Three When One Member Dies

Marvel has announced that it will be killing off a member of the Fantastic Four in next month’s issue, number 587, and that this time, they’re not promising a comeback.

In a story arc entitled “Fear Itself,” the Fantastic Four – Human Torch, Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, and the Thing – have been placed in life-threatening situations, and executive editor Tom Brevoort says, “I think we’ve given plenty of hints as to who may die – perhaps too many.”

Get Thee Hence, Creature! …To Watch the First Trailer for Thor

After a fun but discordantly plotted Iron Man II, we’re hoping that Thor can get lightning to strike at least once.  We’re hoping it’ll hammer it’s competition at the box office.  We’d like it if it’s release couldn’t be considered low key.

Disney Is Actually Developing Three Marvel-based TV Shows

Last month fans jumped at the news that Disney and Marvel would be bringing two Marvel properties to the small screen, and one of them would be an Incredible Hulk show. There was, however, no official announcement from ABC television regarding Marvel’s statements. Well, now we’ve got it from an even higher source, Robert Iger, the CEO of the Walt Disney Company.

We’re developing three live-action series for ABC and ABC Family.

There’s no confirmation yet on which Marvel properties will be chosen for the TV treatment, but there are some indication of which ones are most likely.
