The Internet Is For Infographics …About Porn

Online MBA has a helpful infographic about what is perhaps the Internet’s greatest contribution to civilization: making it incredibly easy to find porn. No longer will young people be shoving magazines under mattresses, and that’s good, because I’m sure we’re all going to be sleeping in zerograv stasis pods any day now.

Some of the stats on it surprised us, nevertheless. For example, only 12% of the internet and 8% of all e-mail is porn. We would have guessed a bit higher.

Internet Porn: Here Today (In China), Gone Tomorrow (In South Africa)

It looks like porn may be back online for Chinese web-surfers. Up until now, China has officially banned internet porn outright, blocking it from its nation’s people via the country’s formidable “great firewall.” Now, according to CNN International’s report on a Telegraph blog post by Malcome Moore, these pornographic sites are once again accessible by the Chinese public. But YouTube is still blocked. You can’t win ‘em all.

Well, this is embarrassing: Earlier today, Google Wave‘s Facebook fan page — which, despite being Google Wave’s Facebook fan page, has over 40,000 fans — posted a link to porn.

VHS Fail: High School History Class Accidentally Shown Porn

History students at Cliff High School got an eyeful when their substitute teacher unwittingly showed them a video of graphic pornography.

The graphic video, described by one student as “naked ladies doing things,” had supposedly been taped over by a History Channel program on the 1919 Treaty of Versailles.  But as is apt to happen with analog technology, the beginning of the tape still contained porn.
