Apple surprised onlookers during WWDC 2012 when the company unveiled the MacBook Pro with Retina display -- a completely new kind of high-end laptop. The 15-inch laptop is super thin, super fast, and has the same super sexy Retina display that debuted in the iPhone 4. Now, it seems that Apple may soon be bringing out a smaller verison of these super expensive laptops in time for the Holidays.

When it comes to Apple hardware, the buzz is usually about the new iPhone or the new iPad. Apple didn't get into either of those at WWDC 2012, but it did announce a whole bunch of new laptop tech that's sure to get everyone salivating. Along with new versions of the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro, Apple has announced an entirely new line of MacBooks, and boy do they ever look pretty. On top of that, they're all shipping today. Let's have a look at the specs, shall we?

The launch of the new iPad brought a number of very obvious improvements to Apple's line of tablets, not the least of which was the beautiful retina display. First appearing on the iPhone 4, the retina display really makes touchscreen products pop with vibrant color. For the new iPad, Apple packed 264 pixesls-per-inch and an amazing  326 ppi into the iPhone 4S. However, Lukas Mathis was curious what all those specs really meant, so he threw a slew of touchscreen products under a digital microscope. At 80x magnification, the differences are pretty clear.

True to expectation, this afternoon's Apple announcement has brought major revamps to the iPod Shuffle, iPod Nano, and iPod Touch lines. What's new?
