Car Full of Zombies Confuses Paramedics

It’s a classic case of police profiling, or DWD. Driving while dead.

Well, actually it’s not, but if you are on your way to a zombie event, and you get in a car crash, you are going to confuse (and scare) the heck out of your paramedics. This is exactly what happened to five people in Portland, Oregon this Friday.

Sgt. Greg Stewart said people who witnessed the crash initially thought the victims’ injuries were much more serious, because of the zombie costumes.

“We’re glad that everyone is alive, despite being ‘undead’,”

As you may have noticed, this week marks the 30th anniversary of the theatrical release of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. Yes, it was thirty years go this weekend that everyone found out that Vader was really Luke’s father.

Hard Core Video of the Day: Octopus Kills Shark

No, we’re not talking about a Syfy Channel exclusive movie. National Geographic has posted footage taken from a zoo aquarium tank where keepers decided to introduce some Spiny Dogfish Sharks. According to the narrator, they were hoping that their sharks, despite their omni-carnivorous diets, wouldn’t decided to make a meal of their Giant Pacific Octopus.

And then shark corpses kept showing up at the bottom of the tank. Understandably eager to know what was killing their animals, the keepers set up some cameras, and the footage they captured is below.

Filming on The Hobbit Movie to Begin in June July

Ian McKellen‘s, erm… quaint official site has confirmed that Guillermo del Toro‘s The Hobbit will begin filming in New Zealand this June July.

The Hobbit’s, two films, start shooting in New Zealand in June.  Filming will take over a year. Casting in Los Angeles, New York City and London has started.

Update: McKellen has since changed his webpage to read “July.”

Considering the length of the shoot (and IMDB) Part I will probably release in 2012, and the films will likely be shot at the same time, just like LotR before them.
