Of all the video games that came out in 2011, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings was probably my far and away favorite. That's even with not having played the original game. It's just that good. So when developer CD Projekt Red announced the latest iteration, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, you can imagine how I felt. This excitement has only grown, and now they've released a whole mess of screenshots that show off what's supposedly the final Witcher title from the studio. Hit the jump to see them for yourself.

Though it won't release until December 4th, and even then only for Xbox 360, Bethesda Game Studios is well aware that folks are eagerly awaiting the coming DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Titled Dragonborn, Skyrim's newest outing will see players visit a setting previously explored in Morrowind: Solstheim. It's there that players will face the very first Dragonborn. If that doesn't sound exciting enough, hit the jump for a series of luscious screenshots for the upcoming DLC.

Getting a quick self portrait of your World of Warcraft toon in some newly minted gear. We've all been there, posing for posterity. Through some diligent digital detective work, though, a group of players has uncovered something a touch unseemly -- every WoW screenshot is tagged with a digital screenshot, leaving a record of the player taking the shot, a timestamp indicating when the picture was captured, and information about the realm the player is in at the time, including its IP address -- which could be bad news for players who are running on private servers to escape the monthly subscription fee built into adventuring in Azeroth.

Unreal Engine 3 is getting old. After six years of supporting games like the entire Mass Effect and Gears of War franchises, the engine is beginning to show its age a little bit. Soon, however, we'll have a glorious new Unreal Engine to drool over. Epic's new iteration promises to deliver a definitely next-gen-feeling experience, including features like particle physics that can handle millions of particles on screen at the same time. In short, it's going to be very pretty.

Yesterday, news broke that the new installment in the Assassin's Creed series, Assassin's Creed 3 -- not to be confused with the actual third Assassin's Creed game that didn't actual employ the suffix of "3" -- would be set in the American Revolution. The Internet freaked out, because that's pretty darn cool (or terrible, depending on which way you freaked out regarding the news). Today, some screenshots have leaked into the wild, and show the still unidentified main character walking around a colony, as well as skulking around the wilderness. Game Informer has gotten its lucky, lucky hands on a batch of screenshots from Dragon Age II, which we learned last week is officially going to happen. Magazine subscribers have already been able to check the pics out in this month's issue, but two of them are now available online to people who are not dirty pirates. Thoughts?

Creative Assembly is churning Total War games out at a serious clip! The upcoming Shogun 2: Total War represents the seventh entry in the series, which for those of you who don't know, blends grand, continent-wide military strategy with brutal, small-scale tactical battles where you can see individual little figures crushed by elephants, and blown apart by cannons, and so on. Anyway -- onto the screenshots!

It seems someone has taken the Twitter mold and made something useful with it (or, at least, more useful). A new site called Dribbble is soon to open up to the public and allow developers to showcase the projects they're working on.
