Last night’s Simpsons season premiere opened with an Inception-themed blackboard.
Side note: (h/t Susana) Will this be the season that we start seeing Inception plots of multi-leveled dream entry and intrigue on TV sitcoms? It could be awesome on shows like Futurama and South Park if it was done well; Two and a Half Men, not so much.

Every six months, London-based advertising agency Work Club invites an artist to decorate the 22 meter chalkboard that adorns their office. This time around, they went with Matt Williams, who proceeded to dress up in a Bart Simpson costume, skateboard to their office accompanied by a strangely gloomy-sounding version of the Simpsons theme song, and write all 288 Simpsons chalkboard gags. Oh, and it took two days to do!

The Simpsons and South Park have made fun of each other in the past, but tonight’s Simpsons opened with a quick but touching show of inter-cartoon support, courtesy of Bart’s chalkboard.
In response to the controversy over the most recent South Park episode, #201 — in which Comedy Central heavily censored the content of the episode that screened on-air and refused to broadcast it online due to death threats South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone received over their depiction of Muhammed in a bear suit — Bart’s chalkboard read “South Park – We’d Stand Beside You If We Weren’t So Scared.”
