The trope of characters on opposing sides of a conflict recognizing their shared traits is a common one, but only because it tends to be hold true -- for all our differences, humanity tends to exhibit more or less the same behavior anywhere it happens to go. Or, in the words of my favorite movie psychiatrist, Peter from Tommy Wiseau's The Room, "People are people." Certainly he'd approve of this quick new supercut from Slacktory, in which people in movies explain to other people in movies how much of their people-ness they happen to share with one another. As you can expect, it's mostly supervillains trying to get a rise out of their heroic counterparts, and all using the exact same phrasing to do it.

Longtime readers of Geekosystem will know that we sure do love the online technology that gets made up for TV shows and movies -- the more generic and hokey, the better. Nobody puts together a fictitious website frontpage like Arrested Development, though (although I have to admit that I really enjoyed many of the Heroes first season ARG sites at the time), and the latest season definitely did not disappoint in that regard. Luckily, Slacktory's saved you the trouble of "Something" searching for all those references yourself with a supercut of all the important ones. I'm surprised that so many of those domains are still up for grabs. Why hasn't anybody snatched up BarryGood.Biz yet?

Video games in movies tend to be the butt of jokes, and video games movies in general are just awful in general. That's why Slacktory's cobbled together a 20-minute montage of video games in movies. It showcases the good, the bad, and truly ugly, but nothing comes close to Freddy Krueger's Power Glove comment. If you've never seen that particular cringe-worthy moment, you owe it to yourself to give this a watch.

Our buddies over at Slacktory recut the 1971 Steven Spielberg movie Duel, replacing most of the audio with that of a driver's ed filmstrip from 1949. The result is pure genius, as well as a great way to watch pretty much all the important parts of the movie in just under four minutes.

There are few things I love more than Doctor Who, but even I have to admit that some of the mocked-up websites and apps depicted in the show are a little bonkers. I won't go through and list the worst offenders, but the folks at Slacktory sure seem to be up to the task. They've put together a compilation of cheesy sites and apps from what appear to be the first four seasons of the current Doctor Who.

It's the B-list characters -- Jefferson Twilight! Number Twenty Four! Truckules! -- that really make Venture Bros. for me. Luckily, it's apparent that the fine folks at Slacktory share my unwholesome love for these minor characters, including one of my favorites -- Brock Samson's mentor Col. Hunter Gathers. Get a look at the Hunter S. Thompson-inspired black ops bigwig's finest moments in this supercut, and stick around for a look at some of the greatest forces for evil in the history of the show with a supercut of Venture Villains.  Caution: Contains spoilers, watch at your own risk.

If you've ever watched an action or sci-fi flick, or an action sci-fi flick, you've almost certainly heard at least one character reference a mainframe of some kind or another. It's one of those tropes that crops up all the time, but it's mostly innocuous, so people don't recognize it as such. "Hack the mainframe," or some version of that gets uttered by the protagonist and/or antagonist. If not them, then their tech-inclined underlings mention it. The good people at Slacktory know this to be true, and have crafted a glorious love song to movie mainframes.

I seriously don't know what we'd do without YouTube-hosted pop culture mashups. We need them to help offset all the nefarious uses people have created with the Internet (malware, porn, etc.). So thank the stars we have videos like this one -- "Star Wars vs. Jurassic Park" (on the YouTube channel Slacktory) -- which combines two things that while awesome on their own, are also surprisingly awesome mashed together, sort of like a cinematic version of chocolate and peanut butter.

Turns out the human experience can be boiled down to about two dozen cliches. It's the only explanation for why certain phrases and mannerisms keep appearing in film and television. That's assuming movies and television shows are meant to be a semi-accurate portrayal of life. For example, how often have you heard the phrase "it's a no-brainer" uttered on the big or small screen? Chances are, you've heard it a lot. Slacktory's combined a big bundle of these moments into one nice supercut. Should you watch it? Of course! It's a no-brainer.

The fictional Pawnee, Indiana, anyway. Not that there's an actual Pawnee, Indiana, but that's beside the point. The good folks over at Slacktory have composed a lovely supercut of all the drinking on Parks and Recreation. Turns out, a whole lot of people drink a whole lot of booze. Granted, this is composed from footage from the show's entire run, but it's still a significant amount.

There's nothing worse than a backseat gamer. If this isn't something you've experienced firsthand, it's hard to understand exactly what's wrong with having a friend sit and watch you play a video game. Unfortunately for most, "sit" and "watch" are rarely the only things said friend does. If you've ever wanted something you love and cherish picked apart by another human being, having a friend watch you game is a good way to do so. Thankfully, Slacktory has provided a video that demonstrates exactly what the experience is like for those that are still curious.

Training for things can be a hard, lengthy process that's incredibly boring to watch. That's why filmmakers invented the montage sequence. Montages are great, but what if you don't have time to watch all of the great montages of film history? Sounds like you, my friend, need a montage of montages. Lucky for you Bryan Menegus and Slacktory have this three minute bit of glory sampled from some of the best montages ever. It's set to Joe Esposito's "You're the Best Around" because it obviously had to be. Enjoy.

Animals do a pretty good job of being cute most of the time, but that gets tiring. What better way to take a vacation from normality than to spend some time harassing humans and each other? This supercut by Slacktory takes a bunch of videos of animals being more mischevious than cute and glues them all together into one fantastic video. Face it, you're from the Internet; you need to see all the animal videos. It's a long journey, but it starts with a single step. Might as well be this supercut.
