    New Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Trailer Revs You Up for More

    Valve has released a new trailer for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, which is coming to Steam, PSN, and Xbox Live Arcade on Tuesday. While some folks may never let go of whatever specific version of Counter-Strike they've been playing all this time, the rest of us are going to go try something new. Also, it's worth noting that the entire video was made in Source Filmmaker, Valve's free video editor.

    Not Just Fun and Games: Steam Officially Launching App Suite Next Month

    In news certain to infuriate millions, Valve is doing yet another thing that is not Half-Life 3. Even more galling -- it's not even a game. Done being offended yet? Good. Because the next big thing from the company is a move to expand their Steam game-streaming service to a full suite of software -- from creatively bent titles like their recently launched Source Filmmaker to productivity  programs. No word on exactly what those might be yet, but for multi-tasking inclined gamers, being able to scratch out a memo on a Notepad style app without leaving Steam would be pretty nifty.

    Source Filmmaker Includes References to Source 2 Engine

    Source Filmmaker is a tool released by Valve that allows users to make movies in the Source engine just like Valve does for Team Fortress 2. It requires Steam to install, of course, but once installed folks can dig through the files. Doing exactly that has yielded some interesting results: A number of lines in the script files reference a new next-gen Source 2 engine. Cue squealing with joy as Valve's Source engine is arguably still one of the best on the market.
