Joss Whedon Actually Turned Down the Buffy Reboot

When Warner Bros. announced they’d be rebooting Buffy the Vampire Slayer with a movie curiously missing Joss Whedon, a lot of people were pretty unhappy about it. Warner Bros. Has Trademarked Quidditch Lingerie

With the Harry Potter movies soon coming to an end, Warner Bros. needs to find new ways to milk the franchise for money, and that might very well be all things Quidditch. Star Wars to Be Released In 3-D

Add another item to the list of things that George Lucas will do to beat one last round of cash out of his “once beloved accidental masterpiece.”

In a move that we’re much more familiar coming out of big studios who wouldn’t know artistic motivation if it kicked them in the pants, Lucas will be re-releasing all six Star Wars movies to theaters in 3-D, beginning in 2012 with Episode I: The Phantom Menace.   According to The Hollywood Reporter, he was inspired by Avatar.  (Not The Last Airbender.)

20th Century Fox must be pinching themselves.

Steven Spielberg’s Terra Nova Concept Art Looks Like Many Things

This is the question posed by The Hollywood Reporter. Terra Nova, if you don’t know (we certainly didn’t) is Spielberg‘s latest green-lit television series (he’s producing). It’s going to be about a family from about 2110 that goes back in time 150 million years to the time of dinosaurs, in order to save the human race.

Or something. Who cares! It’s Steven Spielberg and dinosaurs.

But does it look like Avatar?

Shit My Dad Says Gets Pilot, William Shatner Cast

You may not be aware, but there is a Twitter feed known as Shit My Dad Says, created and curated by Justin Halpern, a 29 year old man who moved back in with his parents last year and has since recorded the wonderfully blunt musings of his father for Internet posterity.

Well, CBS has okayed the making of a pilot to a proposed sitcom based on Shit My Dad Says, to be produced by the creators of Will & Grace. Yes, someone is making a family sitcom out of a genuinely funny but frequently profane Twitter feed. Got that?

William Shatner has been cast in the role of the titular Dad, and now we’re really not sure how to feel about it.
