Image of New ThunderCats Cartoon Released

Topless Robot is in possession of this official image from the new ThunderCats cartoon. While some people might not be too keen on remakes, I actually think this one has potential for a pretty wicked reboot. Is it time for a new generation to have the ThunderCats in their lives? I would have to say "HOOOOOOOOOOOOH" to that. (That means "Yes.") So, right off the bat, what's different?

Russian Cult Worships Gadget from Rescue Rangers?

Gadget Hackwrench. Animated mouse from the Disney animated series Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers. Pilot. Mechanic. Inventor. Central figure of worship in a Russian cult. Wait, what? Yes, apparently their love for Gadget burns with such unbridled passion, a group of people in Russia have built an entire religion around her likeness. They pray to posters of Gadget, write songs about her, and places stickers of her anywhere they can. But really, we'll let their (dubiously translated) words speak for themselves:

Nickelodeon Announces New Season of Avatar: The Legend of Korra

Rumors about a fabled fourth season of Avatar: The Last Airbender have gained traction and number with the release of M. Night Shyamalan's movie, with willful disregard for the actual cinematic worth of the film. Nickelodeon confirmed them all today, with a press statement announcing the production of Avatar: The Legend of Korra, which will pick up the Avatar plot seventy years later, with the Avatar who comes after Aang, a Southern Water Tribe girl (Korra) who has already mastered Water, Earth and Fire.
Her quest leads her to the epicenter of the modern "Avatar" world, Republic City – a metropolis that is fueled by steampunk technology. It is a virtual melting pot where benders and non-benders from all nations live and thrive. However, Korra discovers that Republic City is plagued by crime as well as a growing anti-bending revolution that threatens to rip it apart. Under the tutelage of Aang's son, Tenzin, Korra begins her airbending training while dealing with the dangers at large.
    *ahem* Squeeeeeee.

Tonight! The Premiere of Dragon Ball Z Kai: DBZ Without all the Filler

The first Americanized episode of Dragon Ball Z Kai airs tonight at 8 PM Eastern Time on the Nicktoons Network.

The word Kai in this title means something along the lines of "revisited."  DBZ Kai is basically Dragon Ball Z with all of the filler cut out.

Yes, you heard me.  A DBZ that doesn't crawl along at the pace of a dazed tortoise: half flash backs, and half characters yelling at each other in lieu of plot development.

A Japanese Theme Park Made a Life Sized EVA Unit 01

Sweet Jebus, that is something else. Japanese theme park Fuji-Q HighLand has announced that it will be adding a new section to its park, Evangelion: World - Life-Size EVA-01 Construction Project. In what will certainly become the centerpiece of the place, they are going to build a "life-size" replica of EVA Unit 01, the terrible mecha of Shinji Ikari, the series' main character, inhabited by the trapped soul of Shinji's dead mother. But only from the chest up. Look at the picture above, and tell me that that isn't enough for anyone.

Totoro Cameo in Toy Story 3

Your eyes do not deceive you, that is a Totoro plush in the trailer for Toy Story 3. This is less surprising when you remember that the people at Pixar are, after all, animators, and My Neighbor Totoro is, after all, one of Hayao Miyazaki's most beloved films. This writer really wishes she had watched it by now. I'm sorry, I'm sorrry! I'm waiting for Netflix to come out on the Wii! I have seen the episode of Samurai Jack with Totoro. Forgive me.
