Twitter Remembers Margaret Thatcher
Former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher has died at the age of 87 due to complications from a stroke. Her name quickly shot up to one of the top trending topics on Twitter, because Twitter loves talking about a notable death. Thatcher was nothing if not a controversial figure in Britain, and while many supporters are mourning her passing, plenty of folks are on the verge of celebration, while others are just using her passing to crack jokes. Here's a brief sampling of Twitter's reaction to the former PM's passing.

RED 2 is In the Works. REDDER, Maybe? ORANGE Would Be Next on the Spectrum… Hmm.
As announced by Summit Entertainment yesterday, Erich and Jon Hoeber, the writers behind the screenplay of RED, are at work scripting a second installment of the story. The Punk Justice League of America
Warren Ellis' Remake/Remodel forum challenge happens weekly, and so as responsible people we try to only feature the ones that are totally super make-you-squeal awesome, because otherwise we would post from it every week. This most recent challenge was to imagine what it would look like if the manager of the Sex Pistols got the rights to the Justice League in 1977 and made a movie of them. We bet you can already guess whether the entries fit our criteria. (Below lies the occasional nipple, of both male and female varieties. Just so you know.)Read on... -

Attention to Detail
"Robert isn’t a very showy director, but it’s clearly his most cleverly shot film yet. Also there’s a bit where someone gets exploded into two distinct pieces. I always appreciate that kind of attention to detail." - Warren Ellis on the red carpet premiere of RED, which is based loosely on his comic miniseries of the same name, don'tchaknow.

Alan Moore Is Intimidating
"I was just thinking about the day Jim Lee and Scott Dunbier took me and Bryan Hitch and a few other people out to dinner in London in order to explain to us that DC were buying Wildstorm. What they were really worried about was how Alan Moore was going to take it. I spoke to Alan a couple of days later. "I'm affecting a cane, these days," he said, "and when I got out of the taxi I took to meet them at the train station, they saw me emerging from a black car with what looked like a cudgel in my fist and went very pale.' I still wish I'd thought of that, as occasionally I have to walk with a cane and chose not to take it to London with me because the leg was behaving itself." Warren Ellis, and he's actually talking about the end of Wildstorm, from here he goes on to make some (more) interesting points, which you can read after the jump.

We Ask Prominent Geeks: Team Edward, or Team Jacob? We Get … Interesting Replies
Twilight: Eclipse: This is a movie that is in movie theaters, and some people are apparently very excited about it. Yesterday, there was quite a stir at Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan’s Senate confirmation hearing when a senator pseudo-asked her stance on the Twilight feud between Edward (the vampire) and Jacob (the werewolf). Illegal Character Remake/Remodel: Batgirl
Comic writer supreme Warren Ellis issued a challenge to the forum denizens of his webcomic Freakangels:
Here's what you know. Female. Vigilante. A bit obsessed with bats. Access to exotic weapons. Urban combat training. Only comes out at night. Wears dark colours. Red hair. Makes a lot of stuff herself. Likes motorbikes. That's all you know. Extrapolate and design from that. You have one week.
