They're either too expensive or too ratty if you find them on your own -- those old adventures and rulebooks that fired your imagination as a kid, but your mom sold off at a garage sale when you weren't looking. If you missed it already, you should know it now: Wizards of the Coast is releasing (and selling) all the old out-of-print Dungeons & Dragons products from the early days to the latter days, some in digital form, some as refurbished hard copy.

The folks over at Wizards of the Coast sure do know how to make a disturbing card for Magic: The Gathering. Here at Geekosystem, we hiked up our pants, suppressed our gag reflexes, and compiled a list of truly horrifying examples of card art. These 18 cards are sure to give you nightmares!

A former Wizards of the Coast employee, Donald J. Henry, is facing felony charges for stealing rare Magic: The Gathering cards from Wizards of the Coast. The theft was brought to WotC's attention after an employee noticed a vendor selling various rare cards at a Magic tournament in Portland, Oregon, and performed some undisclosed fancy detective work and linked the vendor to Henry. WotC launched an investigation and found that Henry took over seventy trips to the storage unit where the Magic cards were kept, which is apparently many more trips than his job would've required him to take.

WotC met with the vendor and were able to recover 1,753 cards worth a bit under $45,000.

In another day it will be Memorial Day weekend, a holiday hailed in America, at least, as the official beginning of Summer.  Yeah, suck it, astronomy, the pool is open! Well, we're geeks here, and we know that  summer is really for having a lot more time for our hobbies, which usually don't involve going outside. Wizards of the Coast has announced the setting of its newest Dungeons & Dragons living campaign series, which, for those of you don't know, allows thousands of gamers to participate in related tabletop events at gaming stores across the country. Is it set in Greyhawk, the original D&D setting from 1980? Or Eberron, the quasi-steampunk setting of questionable necessity?
