Get Those Cheevos: Microsoft to Offer Xbox Live Discounts Based on GamerScore

Everybody responds differently to the idea of Xbox 360 achievements (or PS3 trophies) differently. Some find the addition of arbitrary goals and an overarching progression system for gaming as a whole to be highly motivating, while others feel like they ruin the experience. Either way, I think everyone with a high GamerScore — either because they're completionists or because they play a lot of games — agrees that they deserve to be rewarded for their efforts. Well, Microsoft is finally answering the call, launching a new Xbox Live rewards system that provides discounts on Xbox Marketplace for players who have earned enough achievement points.

New Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Trailer Revs You Up for More

Valve has released a new trailer for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, which is coming to Steam, PSN, and Xbox Live Arcade on Tuesday. Finally! Dreamcast Lives On in PS3 and Xbox 360

It's still thinking, and we're very excited. Sega of America and Sega of Europe have happily made a joint announcement stating that the Dreamcast, that oh-so-beloved console released on 9/9/99 (and died a year and a half later), will see new life on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.
