Putting Scotch Tape on Frosted Glass Makes the Glass Transparent [Video]
by James Plafke | 4:00 pm, April 23rd, 2011
YouTube user TheFarmacyMan discovered that when scotch tape is put on his frosted glass privacy screen, the frosted glass becomes transparent when looking through the tape. A theory in the video’s comments section explains:
The glue on the tape fills in the small imperfections on the surface of the glass. Since the glass, the glue, and the tape are clear, filling in the imperfections (the frosting) makes the glass clear.
