This Thanksgiving, We’re Thankful for Mystery Science Theater 3,000’s 25th Anniversary Marathon

Watch it in the not-too-distant future, somewhere in time and space. Oh, or on the Internet.

Be super thankful as you watch six classic episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3,000 online for free this Thanksgiving thanks to Shout! Factory. Shout is selling box sets of episodes at discounted prices all month, and you can vote for your favorite episodes to be part of the marathon on Twitter!

Head over to MST3KTurkeyDay.com on Turkey Day and get treated to a hilarity marathon (hilarathon?) curated by series creator Joel Hodgson himself. Have an episode you’d like to see on the marathon? You’re encouraged to tweet @JoelGHodgson with your picks, and then you can kick back, relax, and enjoy some Thanksgiving Mystery Science Theater goodness just like in years gone by.

We’re still debating what our ideal list would be, but each of the Geeko-editors has feelings on the subject. Here are each of our personal picks:

“The Pumaman”

Associate Editor Dan Van Winkle believes it’s pronounced “Pyumayman.”

“Santa Claus”

Associate Editor Victoria McNally really enjoys the weird intro in this movie.

“The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed Up Zombies”

If the title wasn’t enough, Senior Editor Glen Tickle recalls this as one of the first episodes of the show he saw, and nostalgia is a strong factor in this discussion. He’s also a big fan of the WALKATHON segment at the beginning.

“Prince of Space”

Weekend Editor Sam Maggs wasn’t on hand to make a pick, but Glen and Dan would like to suggest Prince of Space in her absence, because they share a strong fondness for boot blacking and Glen’s VHS of this episode.
