The Official Apple Computers Apparel Collection From 1986 is Pretty Fantastic

Before Steve Jobs opted to give himself a minimalist uniform of jeans and a turtleneck, before the lowercase “i” nomenclature became standard at the computing company, Apple had a line of clothing for its staff to peruse. The above image is just a tiny taste of the incredible 1986 collection, demonstrating that beneath a sideways sweater and joyful yellow lunch pail lurks the mind of a heartless corporate raider. The ad copy is about as hilarious as the imagery, for instance, one description of a sweatshirt begins with, “After a rough day windsurfing…”

And yeah, there’s a sailboard for sale, too. The 80s were a magical time, friend.

Only lazy poor people without drive, creativeness and individuality hate capitalism.

And how and the hell did you get on a government-sheep rant anyway?
Was there a government program that supports you and your underachieved kids if you bash employers, developers, innovators and all around successful people?

This was a throwback to the crappy 80′s apparel, not a venue for your wealth-envy whining.

I’m a small business owner and Libertarian.  Basically, I’m in control of my life.  Maybe you should get a job sir!

Sorry, sad, angry comments ~ I always wonder why you bother? No life? I love Apple, love these fun looks, wish I had bought them then! Purchased my first Mac in 1989 as a grad student becoming a teacher. So NO, I am not a capitalist pig but I have a far better outlook and vocabulary than most who previously left comments. Positivity, people! Without it, we will never survive.

haha its hilarious that you would admit that you would wear this stuff. i can only imagine the idiotic douchebag college students that wore this retarded shit in the 80s. notice the many references to “windsurfing” and “clubs.”

This was John Scully’s doing. He kicked Steve Jobs out of the company in ’85 and while he was totally ignorant of the technology he was trying to sell, he figured he could turn it into a ‘lifestyle brand’ like he had Pepsi. It might have actually worked if he and the marketing hacks he hired hadn’t had such shitty taste.

I hate capitalism, and I have drive, Im very creative, and an individual (and I’m not poor either). Luckily, I do not end up there. So what you are saying is fairly stupid (at least in the way you say it). You say you ar ein control of your life? how? if you are demanded to have all of those qualities you mentioned? Actually, I do not think you have any of them. You are just a dogmatic capitalist who can’t think that the common good is also personal

It looks like the 80s version of what Apple still does. They marketed to a certain demographic and it’s worked for them. They did it with all the iPod commercials of “fashionable young trendy” people dancing. They do it now by showing “hipster” types.

Now they have this same targeted demographic camping outside of their stores every 8 months like obedient little programmed robots.

Seems more like you are a idiot that craves money.  I’m totally in control of my life.  Don’t need a job, invested my money wisely and retired decades ago!!!!

ha ha – what’s funny that that you don’t realize that in 25 years, younger people will be talking that way about you and your fashion sense.
