Sort and Separate Your Clothes — All With One Washing Machine
by Robert Quigley | 10:22 am, March 9th, 2010

It’s a pain to properly separate clothing by fabric and color: we’ll confess that we often just throw everything into one washer and hope for the best, which is why all of our whites are currently a washed-out pinkish-mauve. This three-shelved washing machine concept, designed by Yali Dai, provides an elegant, energy- and time-efficient solution: each ‘drawer’ can be preset to a different temperature and frequency to optimize the cleaning of different batches of clothes, and an inner lid keeps the different washings distinct. But a shared engine and common space cuts down on the amount of water and electricity you use, all in one-third the time.
