Mushroom forager Ben Maleson has the unique ability to play the Craterellus Fallax as one would an oboe. Drawing from his background playing paper straws and other double-reed instruments, Maleson manages to coax tunes from the tiny fungus. Well, something like that.
Also known as the “Trumpet of Death,” this website informs that despite its name it is prized for its rich smokey flavor. They make no mention of its musical application, surely something which must be rectified.
