Be Sad, Internet: World’s Ugliest Dog and Adorable Mutant Earless Bunny Die

Recommended Videos

Hello, Internet. Today is as good a day as any to be sad about things, so why not be sad about the death of both Yoda, 2011’s world’s ugliest dog, and an adorable mutant earless bunny? One of them died a peaceful death, at least, while the other one died a very quick, albeit ridiculously tragic death.

Yoda, the 15-year-old Chinese crested-Chihuahua mix and 2011 world’s ugliest dog winner, died in her sleep last Saturday. Yoda’s owner, Terry Schumacher, first met Yoda abandoned behind an apartment building, and adopted the little gal even though she was intitally mistook for a rat. Schumacher said the dog’s “funny little ways” will be missed, a statement that simultaneously puts a tear in your eye and a smile on your face.

In other tragic news, Til, a mutant earless bunny, was set to debut for a German zoo at a news conference:

But at the conference, Til was accidentally stepped on by a cameraman and crushed to death. Til was only 17 days old. If it makes you feel any better, Uwe Dempewolf, the zoo’s director, said the little guy didn’t suffer, as the accidental stomp “was a direct hit.”

Happy Thursday.
